Climatic balance 2014 vintage in Bordeaux
We do have the pleasure to propose to you an outline of the climate balance of the 2014 vintage in Bordeaux.
A vintage washed down with a dry and sunny late season
From October 2013 to September 2014, the rainfall is higher than the average 2007-2013 vintages .
The month of September is very dry (-51% on average)
A hot vintage with a temperature deficit in May and August
Winter 2013-2014 was particularly warm notably in January and February.
During the growing season, April (Budding) show hot temperatures, May is mild and importantly so; June (Flowering) is rather hot.
In the summer, July is near normal, August (Véraison) mild
And September (maturation) well above normal.
A total of accumulated temperatures finds itself right in the average of 10 last vintages (07-13)
Phenological stages: an early vintage until April and then average evolution rather close to vintage 2010 for example.
The sanitary balance is rather favorable in 2014 compared to previous years; low mildew, oïdium and parasites.
With this information in mind we can expect some fine qualities in 2014, which soon we'll have opportunities to taste.
These figures as in previous blogs of LaBoisseraie are extracted thanks to the 22 bulletins sent during the vegetation cycle by the Chamber of Agriculture in Gironde.
